The clock is ticking on Bryan Danielson’s pro wrestling career. One of the greatest technical wrestlers of all time knows time is not on his side due to injuries and family commitments, so he'll look to make the most of his appearance at AEW WrestleDream on October 1.

The first ever edition of WrestleDream will feature 10 matches with the promotion’s biggest stars mixed with international talent from New Japan Pro Wrestling. Check out the full card, below.

WrestleDream takes place at the Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle, which is Danielson's backyard. The event will air on BR Live in the U.S. and FITE and DAZN outside it.

Date: Sunday, Oct. 1

Time: The main broadcast starts at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT and Monday 1 a.m. BST / 10 a.m. AEST

Danielson faces Zack Sabre Jr. in a dream match. They have fought before, with a young Sabre facing an established Danielson in 2008. Since then, Danielson retired and returned to wrestling but has gotten hit with the injury bug. Sabre has become one of the most gifted wrestlers in the world. Seeing this, Danielson believes the sport will be in good hands when he departs in 2024.

“In my mind, it’s around August of next year,” Danielson told Sports Illustrated. “My daughter will say, ‘Daddy, are you going to be done wrestling when I turn seven?’ And I’ll respond, ‘Well, not exactly when you turn seven, but I’ll be on the home stretch.

“I didn’t get a chance to do All In this year. I would like that chance next year. We have a show, WrestleDream, this October 1 in Seattle where I’m wrestling Zack Sabre Jr. If we have another next year in Seattle, maybe it will be then. My daughter turns seven in May, so it’s a good time to close down the shop.”

Other matches on the card include "Hangman" Adam Page vs. Swerve Strickland in a grudge match and two tag team title fights. FTR put the AEW World Tag Team Titles on the line against Aussie Open, while Adam Cole and MJF defend the ROH World Tag Team Titles against The Righteous.

When Tony Khan announced that, after booking All In for the last weekend in August and All Out for the first weekend in September, that he had booked a brand new AEW Pay-Per-View, WrestleDream, planned for the first Sunday in October, this time coming to fans from the Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle, Washington, it turned more than a few heads in the professional wrestling community.

Sure, few could knock the concept of the Pay-Per-View, as the idea of honoring Antonio Inoki with a special collaboration with New Japan Pro Wrestling is as cool a reason as any to put on a blistering card in the Pacific North West, but doing at full price, again, with Full Gear scheduled for mid-November at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles, California is a little much, no?

On paper, the card is pretty good, not quite All In or Forbidden Door caliber, with Kenny Omega and MJF both working tag team matches instead of the sort of marquee singles matches that they are capable of, but still interesting nonetheless. And the best, with rumors running wild, it's entirely possible that a few new faces may make their debuts in the promotion too, with Edge, Mercedes Mone, and Stardom's Mariah May all potentially Seattle bound.
